UtilityCloud Conference 2023: The opportunities in the Energy Market of the Future

Erik Solbakken and Torbjørn Hompland welcomed participants to the first-ever UtilityCloud conference. It was a fantastic day, shared with customers and partners from across the country.

The conference's main focus revolved around shedding light on the future energy market and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead. With increasing electrification, unregulated power, power shortages, and extreme prices, the question was: How can industry players leverage this to enhance competitiveness in the years to come?

An important role for power companies in the future will be to provide smart solutions for energy efficiency. Erlend demonstrated a future UtilityCloud service for smart management of devices to optimize power consumption.

Yngve Walle from Pareto gave us an insightful look into the economic landscape of the power sector and shared exciting prospects for the industry's financial future.

Sunniva Rose led us into the tension surrounding nuclear power as a solution for future power shortages, sparking a lively discussion among participants.

Håvard Heggen and Frank Ronny Johansen presented the focus areas within settlement and billing, exploring how we can leverage the data available in UtilityCloud. Erlend Falch-Pedersen went through the roadmap for UtilityCloud and invited a dialogue on development priorities.

The conference reached its highlight with a lively panel debate featuring Stein Inge Morisbak (Haugaland Kraft Strøm), Arild Markussen (Helgeland Kraft), and Ole Angellsen (Bodø Energi). They shared thoughts on how the power crisis had affected them and discussed what will be crucial in facing the future energy market.

To top it all off, we concluded the day with a delightful dinner and captivating entertainment.
